Executive Director Announcement

Posted by Julia Cavicchi on November 1, 2020

There comes a time in any startup organization when a founder needs to step aside and bring in fresh and energized leadership. I am a firm believer that this is critical for the overall health and wellbeing of my beloved Rich Earth Institute, and it is also important for my health and wellbeing. Although I am stepping down as the Executive Director of the non-profit Institute, I will stay on part time as the CEO of our business spin-off, Rich Earth LLC, where we will continue to develop products and tools for urine nutrient recovery.

When I look back over the past 9 years, I am so proud of the distance we have come together; from a handful of enthusiasts to peecycling more than 10,000 gallons of urine in a single year in Southern Vermont, from one farm partner to nine farm partners, from pioneering permits to building pasteurizers iteration after iteration, to buying our own research center, to published papers and an annual international Summit. There is so much to be proud of.

And I am particularly proud of the talented, hard working team Abe and I have assembled in Southern Vermont to do this work. Please continue to support and inspire them with your donations (liquid and dollar) and with your shared hope for sustainable living on this bountiful and beautiful, rich Earth.

Please help us find the Rich Earth Institute’s next Executive Director by sharing the job description widely.
