Rich Earth staff and board started 2020 off with our annual retreat on January 11. Led by Nadav Malin, Board member and President of Building Green, we were fully engaged from 9 AM – 4 PM for a solid review of our five year strategic plan, and an excellent potluck lunch.

The Strategic Plan was created in 2017 for 2018-2022 and we have completed the first two years. It was pleasing to note that in several aspects of the plan, we have moved farther and faster than we’d expected and are able to set new targets. For example, we were deciding in 2017 if any of our inventions should be patented and we just weren’t sure.  Now we have two patents pending – so we’ve answered that question affirmatively. Because explorations into urine diversion efforts around the globe are increasing, some strategies we had expected to spearhead can be accomplished by others. The retreat was a great opportunity for us to take stock of our programs and activities while working hard together; sharing our thinking, passion and commitment to sustainable sanitation solutions.
