FOOD WASTE to RESOURCE

In addition to their focus on urine and overall solutions for sanitation systems, the Brightwater team has identified a promising new beachhead market, the food digestion Industry. They have tested samples of digestate from anaerobic digesters, and the results are positive. Because of this development, BWT sold another unit of their freeze concentrator in under two months.

In April the UVM MIINT Team, graduate students from the Grossman School of Business Sustainable MBA program, selected Brightwater Tools to present in a pitch Competition for the Turner MIINT Program. This team won first runner up and Brightwater Tools won a $25K investment between Bridges Impact Foundation and ESG Initiative at the Wharton School. 34 top global business schools participated in the competition.

With their tech deploying in multiple pilot locations, they are awaiting an additional NSF grant and opening up a $5M Series A investment round in September. They will kick this off with a visit to NYC for Climate Week, where they will present their solutions to prospective investors.
